Is This a Good Pacific Northwest Travel Website?

I love the Pacific Northwest. I’ve lived here for over twenty years. I love living here so much that I’ve built this website over the past couple of years showcasing the many places to visit here. I have written several Pacific Northwest travel itinerary articles and will add many more. I love it here so much I want to shout it from the rooftops.

And I do!

I know there are a few of you out there that are reading my blogs about all things Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. But sometimes I kind of feel like I’m shouting into an abyss. I see you there, but I’m not hearing you. Therefore, I’m not entirely sure that what I’m writing about is useful to you.

  • Are you coming to my website because you’re from this area and are just curious about my opinions of it?
  • Are you coming to my website because you’re from another part of the world, and are curious about the PNW, but have no plans to visit?
  • Or are you coming here because you haven’t yet been (or want to come back) and genuinely need some advice on where to go and what to do?

Now, I’m not stupid, I know that there are readers who can put themselves in any of the brackets above, but after almost two years of writing this blog, I have to wonder…am I really giving people what they want? Am I satisfying a need for information or a curiosity you harbor about the Pacific Northwest?

This blog is in many ways still in its infancy. I plan on spending many more years blogging about the PNW, slowly changing and building this website up to something really great.  I’ve written good articles about Portland, Seattle, Victoria, Vancouver. I’ve given you my experiences traveling around the Olympic Peninsula, staying in a treehouse and in a yurt. What it’s like to play along the Oregon Coast, in the deserts of Washington State, and where to eat and drink. Island life in Puget Sound and my first skiing experience. But it is enough?

I have so many more blogs to write. Many places yet in the PNW I have yet to cover. But I’m at a bit of an impasse. In order to move forward in a meaningful way, I need to know that what I’m doing is helping you. I know that my articles are informative, and I try my best to instill my sparkling personality in most of them.

But is it what you’re looking for?

Did you come to my website and not find what you were hoping to find? Did you read one or more of my blog posts and come away disappointed? If so, I want to hear from YOU. I’ll take the criticism, I’m a big girl. Lay it out for me. I can take it!

And even if you think my Pacific Northwest travel website is the best thing since whipped butter, well you can tell me that, too. (Although I’d have a hard time taking you seriously, especially if you use the whipped butter analogy.)

I want to make this PNW travel blog the premier go-to website for all things Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. But I need YOUR HELP. What am I doing wrong? What am I doing right?

I want to hear from YOU.

What can I do to help you get your butt here and experience all that the gorgeous Pacific Northwest has to offer? E-mail me, or drop a comment below!

    Hi Susan

My Fiance and I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, and we are planning on coming to Washington and Oregon for our honeymoon next Summer (June 2019) for 13 nights. We are flying in and out of Seattle so will need 2 nights there at the beginning and 1 at the end, that leaves us with 10 nights. We love Orcas so are desperate to see some in the San Juan Islands, we went to British Columbia last year and loved seeing orcas, and we are thinking 3 nights there. Next we were thinking Portland for a couple of nights then Brasada Ranch for 3 nights followed by Astoria for 2, before heading back to Seattle. Is there anything we really should be doing instead of what we currently have planned? How well is the Columbia River Gorge rejuvenation going? Is it worth still going to? Also are there any good stops we could do enroute to any of these locations.

Absolutely delighted to have found this blog as I love the PNW!

Any tips on the above would be great, thank you

    • Thank you for your kind comments, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage! You have a pretty good itinerary going already of the Pacific Northwest! As far as the Columbia River Gorge rejuvenation, it is still going on, but I highly recommend taking a few hours and driving from Portland to see Multnomah Falls. It is gorgeous and you can hike up to the top if you want!

      Happy travels!
